Become a DONOR!

Donations can be made at/through either the Alzheimer Society office, or directly through Charity Helps.

While the Alzheimer Society does receive funding from the Ministry of Health through the Central East LHIN, the success in being able to meet current and future needs of the organization’s clients does and will come from the contributions of individuals, businesses and local organizations. The local Chapter is focusing on both increasing the volume of individuals and families that can be supported, as well as increasing the quality of support provided for each of our clients. Donors should know that their contributions are helping to impact the lives of individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

While donations made generically to the local Alzheimer Chapter are easiest to manage, donors can choose to support certain programs, and/or certain communities. Please be sure to specify your desire to have your donation remain at the local level.

Donations for research activities will be forwarded to the provincial and national levels.

Individual Donations

Donations are accepted from individuals, corporations and social/community organizations. Tax receipts are provided with proper documentation. Cheques can be mailed in or dropped off, credit card donations can be phoned in or completed with a visit to the local office.

Designate Your Payroll Deductions

Many employers allow their employees to contribute through their workplace. Your employer will have details on how you can do so. You may contact the local Alzheimer Chapter for any information you need to help arrange this service through your employer.

In Memorium Donations

You can help support local Alzheimer Society activities by designating the Alzheimer Society as your charity of choice when a loved one in your family passes away. You can also assist our local need when others suggest you make a donation to the charity of your choice. A memorial card will be sent on your behalf from the Society.

Planned Giving and Major Giving

Planned Gifts are donations of significant value made by a donor as a result of their estate planning process. Major Gifts are also donations of significant value, but are made while the donor is able to witness the gift being made. Gifts could take the form of cash, bequests, life insurance, annuities and more. There are usually significant tax benefits to making a donation to a charitable organization. Financial Advisors and Lawyers should be consulted to obtain accurate information and advice.
